Movie Review: The Express

X
"The Express" had a special screening in Dallas last night, and Star-Snitch was on the scene. Let me start by saying I am normally not a fan of sports films that chronicle the hardship of African Americans, because its been done too much. But this film was somehow better than those that preceded it. It was more about the triump of one man and how it affected a nation.
X
The acting is amazing. Relative new-comer Rob Brown stars in the film and gives a very emotional performance. The supporting cast also helps keep the conflicts of the story into perspective. There is something special about the way this film presents a very sensative subject with the message of grace and determination, as opposed to hate.
X
I did a little research on Ernie Davis (who the film is based on) and I was happy to know that the writers did not add too much to his actual story. The film parallels his highlights and lowlights and leaves the audience feeling all the spaces in between.

Check out the trailer:

I give the film a B+ and hope that you all go see it.
